The Full Story
Waxing & Raining all began in 2017 during a long-term, cross-country road trip. Hannah, candlemaker at Waxing and Raining, started making beeswax candles as a hobby in 2017, making non-toxic and fragrance free candles for her own use.
Grateful for this process, she launched her brand in 2019 with a mission to provide ethical sourcing, mindful consumption and a decrease in the toxic pollutants found in everyday candle products on the market.
In 2022, after having a her son, Hannah's Mother, Heather joined to lend a hand. After many late nights and weekends at craft fairs, the business has grown to require so much time and dedication that Hannah could never do by herself. Over the years, Waxing & Raining has turned into such a beautiful partnership, and would not have grown to what it is now, without the dedication for this mother-daughter team.
In September of 2025, Heather & Hannah moved Waxing & Raining out of a garage, into a larger space in McMinnville Oregon to grow and blossom, and they look forward to where this creative business will take them.
Who knew, a lovely hobby would blossom into a long-term challenging adventure and creative focus.
An Oregon local, Hannah strives to keep things simple, with very few ingredients. Everything you need and not what you don't! Creating minimal waste.
